What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding means protecting children from harm, abuse, and neglect. It also involves promoting their health, development, and wellbeing, ensuring they grow up with safe and effective care.

Our Responsibilities

We have a legal and moral duty to:

• Protect children from abuse, neglect, and harm.
• Respond quickly and effectively to any safeguarding concerns.
• Create a safe environment that promotes children's health and development.
• Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies.

Our Key Safeguarding Measures

Trained Staff: All our team members receive regular safeguarding training and are familiar with the latest legislation and best practices.

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): We have a trained DSL on-site at all times, responsible for overseeing all safeguarding matters.

Safer Recruitment: All staff undergo enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks and rigorous recruitment procedures.

Open Communication: We maintain open, respectful communication with parents and carers, and we encourage you to speak to us about any concerns.

Secure Premises: Our nursery is equipped with secure entry systems, and safe play areas to ensure children’s physical safety.

Policies and Procedures: We follow the guidelines set out by the Local Safeguarding Children Partnership and update our safeguarding policies regularly. Our full Safeguarding Policy, outlines our procedures, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS), Children's Act 1989 and 2024, and Working Togther to Safeguard Children 2023.
